Like a bolt from the blue
With big grief and very sad we have become the knowledge that this morning,
14th January 2010 has passed away
Alf Andersson
Early this morning Alf his son Mats called me with the sad tidings that his father, just a while before, had become an coronary (heart attack), and that despite all the help there was to keep him alive, it was not succeed.
A week ago I had them on the phone, they were determined to come over from North-Sweden with their family in three weeks to be present with our HMR Wintermeeting. As well father Alf as son Mats were, just like in 2008, become both HMR-champion 2009 in the A resp. D class.
Encouraged by his friend Rolf Johansson to go also racing with the HMR, Alf and his RPB. F.Vee undertake the trip to the HMR-races and after this many trips direction HMR would follow. In 2003 we welcomed Alf and his wife Solveig with the HMR.
We can describe Alf as a man with an characteristic and also a very beautiful face, someone who radiated rest, but also somebody with a feeling for humour, and who was always cheerful and very happy to see everybody again on the track.
Alf was also a go-getter when he 2006 on the Nürburgring got six broken ribs after a outing on the track with his RPB and here with into the hospital in Adenau came. A small week later he drove ‘well taped’ his bus with racingcar back home to Sweden, accompanied by his wife Solveig and Rolf and Monica Johansson, who where waiting for Alf his discharge from the hospital together with Solveig on the Nürburgring.
Howmany thousend of kilometres Alf has covered in all those years to race with us, are not to name, it were for each event every time about 3000 km, who Alf with his Vedex bus found it worth to take part to the HMR-races.
In 2005 Alf became for the first time with the HMR champion and has stands in all these years many time on the HMR-podium. In 2006 Alf took his son Mats with his FF1600 with him and since that time they took both part on our races. In 2007 Mats changed his FF1600 for a F.3., and from that time the Vedex-bus arrived with Alf and Mats on board with their F.Vee and F.3.
Also Solveig, Alf’s wife, came many times with their husband and son to the European track and sometimes the whole family came with them, their daughter Anette, their daughter in law, Mat’s wife Helène and Alf his granddaughters Jennifer and Emilie. When the Swedish Midsummer Eve was at the same time as one of the HMR-races, than this Swedish holiday was celebrated with all of them on the track, even this did not restrain the family Andersson to stay at home in Sweden.
Inside the HMR we will miss Alf very much and lose in him an marvellous driver and above all a very cheerful and lovable person, but we are also grateful for the many memories he has left for and with us. We wish Solveig, Anette, Mats, Helène, Jennifer and Emilie a lot of strenght with this big loss and hope that they will become the strength to carry this.
